Turning to God for revival

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 85
“He promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.”(Psalm 85:8)
We are surrounded by God’s love, faithfulness, righteousness and peace.
We need God’s help to restore these essential qualities of life; by our folly we have lost them.
God forgives us so much, but He also wants us to turn away from our folly.
He wants to revive us – and His creation kingdom – but we need to be willing to change.
As long as we cling to the very attitudes and behaviours that ruin the world, God’s favour is missed.
God is not being mean, He CANNOT bless us as long as we keep returning to our folly.
Like a criminal who keeps robbing banks, then asking for forgiveness and mercy, they need to STOP being stupid and START changing their lives, if they want to experience God’s blessing.
God is not holding out on us, we are holding out on God.
God is showering immeasurable blessings on us already, are we letting go of folly so that our hearts can receive them?
I join with the Psalmist in praying for revival, but may we not put out its fire with our stubborn choices and behaviours.
Where are we as a church holding out on God?
Where am I as a church leader holding out on God?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, we need Your Spirit in order to repent and change. So please revive and refresh us, that we may experience Your love, faithfulness, righteousness and peace, and embrace it for ourselves.
