Now that’s good news!

SCRIPTURE: Luke 9:1-9
The disciples proclaim the kingdom of God (Luke 9:2), which is the good news (Luke 9:6).
The good news of the kingdom of God (Matthew 4:23, Mark 1:15, Luke 4:43, Acts 8:12).
God created this world very good, and authorized humans to rule it for Him, like Him (Genesis 1:26-28).
But because humanity failed (Genesis 3), God had to raise up a new Adam to succeed (Matthew 3).
In Jesus, a human finally resists the devil; all authority is given to Him (Matthew 28:18-20).
Set free from the curse and power of sin, released from the devil’s clutches, we are free to join Jesus!
We are authorized (like Adam) to rule with Jesus, sent out to live and love and lead like God, like Jesus.
In Jesus’ name, we help those who are troubled by demons, or burdened by human weakness.
Through service (what we can do) and prayer (what God can do), we demonstrate Jesus’ victory over the dominion of darkness.
We do not need to use force (move on if people refuse), nor rely on worldly wealth (take nothing).
God is our confidence, Jesus is our commander-in-chief, compassion is our mission.
And the good news is, Satan is defeated and God’s creation kingdom under Adam (Jesus) has been established.
It is only now a matter of time before everything will be set right once and for all!
We cannot fail, for He has succeeded!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, the kingdom is the world we long for, the world John Lennon tried to imagine, the dream that MLK dreamed. Inspire me with this vision, that I may proclaim and demonstrate this good news in a way that honours You!
