A missionary prayer!

Posted on January 7, 2024January 6, 2024 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 67

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“May God be gracious to us and bless us…
so that your ways may be known on earth.” (Psalm 67:1-2)

This is a missionary prayer, praying for others to know God.
God blesses Abraham’s family to bless all the nations (Genesis 12:1-3).
God rules all people with equity (v.4), yet some are chosen for a task.
(Think of how a leader is chosen for the people, to benefit them).
God is not choosing some people over others, but FOR others.
Unfortunately, too often those chosen forget why they are chosen.
They imagine their ‘election’ as a privilege, not a responsibility.
As we pursue our mission as Jesus followers, we can pray Psalm 67 too.
We do not pray ‘make us rich’ or ‘make our lives easy’.
We pray ‘give us success’ and ‘give us what we need’ for the mission.
Our goal is that all people would know God’s gracious ways.
We want all people to experience God’s face smiling on them.
Do my prayers reflect God’s missionary, am I praying like a missionary?
PRAYER
Lord, use me to spread your beaming grace to the people I meet, so that all people can know and praise you!

    “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—[b]2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.”
    We are/I am blessed to be a follower of Jesus – an ambassador – I am to be a blessing to those around us. God’s smile of blessing is to be my smile. Help me Lord to share the love you have so that all people I meet might be blessed and find their way to you! You bless me – help me to bless!

    I need to be an instrument of His peace that others see me living to please Him.
    As God has blessed me, I need to be a blessing unto others. All peoples need to praise Him and acknowledge His rule. All what we have is His blessing on our lives. Thanksgiving. Thanksliving. We need to acknowledge God always and to give Him the praise. No what my hands of done, but what the Lord has done in our lives, we give Him the praise and honour and glory. I need to spread His love for me to others so that they too my see the works of the Lord in their lives and give Him the praise.

    1 Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Praise Him, praise Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

    2 Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Love Him, love Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

    3 Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love;
    Thank Him, thank Him, all ye little children,
    God is love, God is love.

think about it!

In continuing the practice of conversing with God throughout each day and quickly seeking His forgiveness when I fell or strayed, His presence has become as easy and natural to me now as it once was difficult to attain.
