Season Greetings,
I just got home on the Friday the 17th after the last day of camp. We had a Christmas party where we played games, sang Christmas songs, ate a meal together, and at the end all of the kids got nicely wrapped presents that were donated to our camp, to put under their Christmas trees. It really was awesome. In the past month I had to opportunity to go see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with 3 of the older girls from our camp. It was a lot of fun. We also had the incredible blessing of having ROM tickets donated to us. Three leaders and seven kids went and it was such a fun time (though also incredibly stressful at times). My favourite part was when I got to take the two guys in the group and go through the dinosaur section and talk about all the stuff I learned when I wanted to be a palaeontologist as a kid.
In other news, I had the task of writing a sermon for the Intern Class that I am in. I think I did a pretty good job. I had to talk about 2 Corinthians Chapter 2, which isn’t really an obvious choice for a sermon, but it still went pretty well in my opinion.
I have been informed also that we are getting another intern in my already cramped apartment. On the Brightside, since all my current roommates are German, and often lapse back into their native tongues, my new roommate speak English as his first language, and he is British, so he has an awesome accent to boot.
Those three kids I mentioned before haven’t changed too much. The oldest daughter has got a bit of new attitude where she cries whenever she doesn’t get what she wants. The 6 year old boy is slowly becoming less emotional all the time, and his behaviour is starting to improve. There was an incident with the 5 year old boy and he had to be suspended for a day, but the day after that he came back and was very sorry, and was very friendly to me, so hopefully he has learned a lesson. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers. Please pray for all the other kids as a lot of them are getting sick because of the current weather.
I am really happy to be home, and thoroughly enjoying this period of rest. While life in Toronto is definitely exhausting I am looking forward to going back. Hopefully sometime over this holiday I will be able to see you and talk to you in person, but if not, Merry Christmas, Happy New Years, and Thank you so much!
Nathan
