from east to west!

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 65
OBSERVATION/APPLICATION:
Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy. [Psalms 65:8]
The abundance of God is all around us, the evidence of Eden is still plain to see, even though it is marred by our rebellion and the resulting devastation.
Every that lives can see or experience it, to some extent; notwithstanding all that is ugly and miserable, there remains an overwhelming abundance of beauty and awesomeness, leading people to stand in awe!
You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops. You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. [Psalms 65:10-11]

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. [Matthew 5:44-45]
Jesus reminds us also how God’s love extends to the ends of the earth, how all people are recipients of this amazing beauty and blessing – whether they realize or appreciate it or not.
Most people who spend time reflecting on the wonders of the universe are inspired with awe and joy.
They may not make the connection between these things and God (some do not, many others do!), but they still sense it!
Then it should not surprise us that many people from the ends of the earth will one day come to God and Jesus – through the revelation of Jesus imprinted on His creation – and worship Him! — how else did the wise men find Jesus?
And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” [Matthew 8:11-12]
What is more surprising, according to Jesus, is the many that actually knew God (and/or Jesus) and refused Him.
They had tasted and seen the goodness of God and His kingdom, yet they do not want it, do not choose it, do not receive it.

All of us must come to you. [Psalms 65:2]You are the hope of everyone on earth [Psalms 65:5]
No one can find never-ending joy and life and peace apart from God, apart from Jesus.
This is not just narrow-minded religion, it is nature of reality; God created everything through Jesus, God blesses everything through Jesus, God reconciles everything through Jesus.
Yes, this same Jesus that lived in a body on earth for a short period of time is the Son of the Living God, the one through Whom all things were made, in Whom all things hold together [Colossians 1:15-17]

I believe that no one can “be saved” apart from Jesus, but I also believe that many will be saved through Jesus – from east and west, the ends of the earth, where the sun rises to where it sets – that discovered Him through the abundance and awesomeness of His creation blessing.
But I also believe, sad to say, that many who claim to know Him, who taste His abundant, awesome blessing, do not enjoy or appreciate it – some of them may even ultimately reject and forfeit it.
This is the essence of Jesus’ warning (Matthew 8:11-12].
Do I see it, do I appreciate it, do I celebrate His goodness and love all around me?

PRAYER:
Lord, how is it that I can experience Your awesomeness and abundance, yet not break out in shouts of joy, or stand in wonder? May I not take Your love for granted, may I not miss out on all that Your love has in mind for me.
