No one, nothing greater!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 12:1-21

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Something greater than Solomon is here.” (Matthew 12:42)
Jesus is frustrated with the religious leaders.
No matter what he says or does, it is not enough.
He points to non-Jews in the past who responded better than they did.
The empire of Assyria (Nineveh) was cruel and violent.
But they repented when Jonah came warning them.
The Queen of Ethiopia was wealthy and worldly.
But she humbly acknowledged Solomon’s God-given wisdom.
Jonah’s warning and Solomon’s wisdom are nothing compared to Jesus.
Jesus is greater than both, his words and ways are radically good.
The goodness and mercy ooze out of Jesus, yet they do not see it.
Jesus is the living embodiment of God’s character (Exodus 34:6-7).
Jesus is greater than Solomon and Jonah, greater than David or Moses.
Jesus is God’s sign, God’s warning, God’s wisdom – calling me!
Will I repent and humbly submit to the greatness of Jesus and his Way?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, all the signs point to you. There is no greater teacher, no greater prophet than you! There is no greater teaching, no greater wisdom than yours! I choose again today to follow you and your way!
