This was a day of last minute details and preparation. And now the packing begins, and by packing I mean unpacking. We can only take what fits into our backpacks, and whatever we take we have to walk with every day. A little this and a little that doesn’t seem like much, but how quickly it adds a pound to the weight. How much do we really need? This makes me think of Jesus’s words to his disciples, “Take nothing for the journey — no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.” (Luke 9:3) Talk about travelling light. The lesson here is about trust. Maybe I also need to trust that the Lord will provide what we need along the way?
- Brought the car in for repairs. Waiting at the Coffee Shop for 3 hrs.
- Spent that time confirming accommodations, setting up our credit card for travel, looking into e-sim cards for data, and figuring out how trains and buses work in Europe.
- Drove to pick up a few more euros and sundry items.
- Went for our last walk along the Blair Trail
- Explained to Nathan what he needs to know for maintaining our home.
- Our last pizza night with a movie: “The Adam Project”.
As long as you have your passports, all your meds & access to funds, the only other thing you need is a someone, Jesus is your traveling companion, actually, He’s your guide, all the way, every day. Have an incredible experience, but stay safe & stay well.
Godspeed.
