Everyone!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 11:5-13

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Luke 11:10)
Jesus seems to be radically inclusive here: everyone!
Are there any limits on this everyone, anyone who is excluded?
Jesus does not mention anyone, so it would seem not.
Does your confession of sin need to be perfect?
Does your confidence in Jesus as Saviour need to be perfect?
Does your obedience to Jesus as Lord have to be perfect?
If so, could anyone qualify – none of the first disciples did.
The only qualification is asking, seeking and knocking.
In other words, anyone who wants God’s help sincerely will get it.
Think of the Roman centurion, or Jairus the synagogue ruler.
The woman with the constant bleeding, or the man on the cross.
Even if the church is stingy with God’s grace, Jesus isn’t.
God’s Spirit is ready to move in to help everyone… am I?
PRAYER
Lord, your doors are wide open, your grace meets and welcomes everyone. Your love is so much more that ours is. Make my love so much more like yours!

  1. “How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
When I pray and ask for things I don’t always get what I want. Sometimes my prayer is answered with a “NO”. Of course, I don’t like that. Later, I find out it was for the best and even if I didn’t I’m learning that I am not being rejected or ignored. That is the where the special gift of the HS helps me. Helps me see the big picture. He it is that helps me go beyond the circumstances of life and see where I am on my journey with Jesus! Thank you for the gift. I also know I may continue and am actually urged to continue to pray asking for the Father’s blessing and protection as I go! The Father wants me to ask – thank you for being willing to listen!

  2. As parents we desire the best for our children. Father knows best.
Our heavenly Father also knows what we need. If they but ask He listens and hears their request and will give His Spirit to guard and guide. Continue to be in His presence asking for His grce and truth to mark the way I need to walk. Always be in His presence for He knows our/my needs. Walk with the Saviour now and always.

    Come to the Savior, all,
    whate’er your burdens be;
    hear now His loving call,
“Cast all your care on me.”
    Come, and for every grief,
    in Jesus you will find
    a sure and safe relief,
    a loving friend and kind.
