PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 20:27-40
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“The Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection…” (Luke 20:36)
We are so confident that we understand things, that we know better.
The Sadducees were convinced they knew what was beyond death.
They try their logic on Jesus, to display their knowledge.
Jesus does not prove them wrong, but he exposes their folly.
Do they really think their finite minds can grasp the infinite?
What happens beyond death is beyond our grasp.
It is like a child who just learned numbers.
How can they explain the theory of relativity???
The only thing we know for sure is that God will be there!
One day we will see God, and we will experience the life first hand.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)
Only God can fully know and explain the mysteries of life and eternal life.
What happens after death is a mystery, but one thing for sure – God will be there!
PRAYER
Lord, with you and God, life – not death – is my destiny. One day I will experience this face to face. Until then, I will hang on in hope to life beyond death!
I appreciate this reading and it reassures me – my belief and trust in Jesus is affirmed for “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.” Thank you Lord for giving me life now and life in the life to come! I trust that I will see you Jesus beyond the grave!
Those who believe – Christian by name – die once but live twice. As Christ arose from the grave, we will too. How our lives will be after we arise is not know. Only God lnows. Just like the thief on the cross was promised to be with the Lord, that too is our promise. As I live for Jesus this day and as He is with us now, that will also be true in my life hereafter. Living in His presence, in His visible presence. What a day that will be! Living for Jesus always.
1 My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.
2 When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
3 His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
4 When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found:
dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
