A reflection of his glory!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 87

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Glorious things are said of you, city of God.” (Psalm 87:3)
Jerusalem was the center of Israel, where God lived in the temple.
‘God is with us’ was their identity, the heart and hope of their existence.
The city itself gained a reputation, though not always ‘glorious’.
When the people turned away from God, the city slipped in glory.
The same can be said of me as a ‘temple’ where God lives.
As I live in harmony with God and God’s will, there’s something glorious.
But not when other fruit than the fruit of the Spirit marks my life.
The same can be said for the church, the gathering of God’s people.
Sad to say, glorious things are not always spoken about the church.
Jesus helps his family shine with goodness in a dark, messed up world.
Our lives are like mirrors, we reflect the sun as we face towards it.
When we turn away from God and Jesus, the glory fades.
By grace glorious things are said by God about us, through Jesus.
By that same grace Jesus helps us to grow in reflecting his glory!
PRAYER
Lord, help me to live the kind of life that leads people to say glorious things of you.

  1. Who builds my house? “He has founded his city on the holy mountain.” I need my foundation to be Jesus – and the building process needs the work of the HS – that I may grow and be built like Zion – God’s holy mountain!

  2. Fountains give waters for living.
That living water needs to praise the Creator, Who gives the waters of life. I need to praise Him for the living waters and live for Jesus. Christian by name since I am a follower of Christ. Others need to see Christ living in me.

Come on down to the Living Water
Waves of mercy rushin’ over you
No more strangers, only sons and daughters
Come down to the Living Water and rise up new
