PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 66
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“We went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.” (Psalm 66:12)
As followers of Jesus we know that life will be difficult in this world.
But we also know that despite this, Jesus has overcome this world.
We are going against the grain, fighting the current, moving towards love.
But because we cherish gracious love, we keep moving towards it.
As we go, the Lord will protect and provide for us in small and big ways.
Because he cherishes us, he will not abandon us to the troubles on the way.
Jesus followers keep going because they see the joy set before them.
The day of abundance is ahead of us, and we keep living towards it.
The world may withhold its love from us, but he will not (v.20).
Hang on to God’s love, keep on living in and for that love.
He will lead us through the fire and water and into his abundant love.
I have seen and experienced both the troubles, and the Lord’s love.
I remain confident that the Lord is leading us THROUGH these difficulties.
This is for all people, all the earth, for any who want it… do you?
PRAYER
Lord, the path is long and hard, but the destination is worth it, and so is your company along the way. Thank you for bringing us through all this!
“Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.” People have various reasons to fear God or even more so they fear death. I believe, like the Psalmist, in gratitude for all that God has done for me especially saving me from the condemnation that I believe I am due, I need to tell others what God has done for me – especially when I survive challenging times. I give witness to how God helped me through – the HS enabling me and coaching me. It is when I struggle and face challenges or take on things I thought I could not do – I feel weak but through His help I make it. I tell what God has done for me! Help me to be genuine in both tough and good times- the credit belongs to God!!
The last day of 2023.
Today is a good day to reflect all what the Lord God has done for us, how He has helped us on our way throughout this past year. Give Hin the honour. Give Him the praise. His guiding hand was always there. He continues to hear us when we pray. Each day anew He has shown His presence if I but open my eyes to see Him.
As I stand on the threshold of the new year, I need to continue my pilgrim’s progress with Him walking in His ‘Sonshine’ everyday as He continues to lead me and guide me in the way I need to walk, serving Him.
Come, all ye people, bless our God,
And tell His glorious praise abroad,
Who holds our souls in life,
Who never lets our feet be moved
And, though our faith He oft has proved,
Upholds us in the strife.
We come with offerings to His house,
And here we pay the solemn vows,
We uttered in distress;
To Him our all we dedicate,
To Him we wholly consecrate
The lives His mercies bless.
Come, hear, all ye that fear the Lord,
While I with grateful heart record
What God has done for me;
I cried to Him in deep distress,
And now His wondrous grace I bless,
For He has set me free.
The Lord, Who turns away the plea
Of those who love iniquity,
Has answered my request;
He has not turned away my prayer,
His grace and love He makes me share;
His Name be ever blest.
