Let him show you!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 139

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” (Psalm 139:1)
How does this make you feel?
He knows EVERYTHING about me, totally, completely, everywhere, always.
This kind of exposure can be frightening… talk about a breach of privacy!
We may try to hide, to cover up our badness with goodness, but God isn’t fooled.
We can point the finger at others, how they are worse (vv.19-22), but that won’t work.
If God were evil this privacy breach would be awful; but God is good and loving!
God in Jesus comes to us to search us, test us and lead us in the way everlasting.
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
Hiding from Jesus is like avoiding a cancer specialist who wants to do a scan.
In your prayers, be honest with Jesus, and allow him to bring to mind what he knows.
Let him show you your heart, not to shame you but to help and heal you.
Let him show you the reason for your anxious thoughts, fears, doubts and struggles.
It is better than having a hidden spiritual cancer slowly ruin you from the inside.
PRAYER
Lord, I know there are things in me that are not right or good. And I know its worse than I imagine. Though it is hard, help me to trust your diagnosis and your cure.

  1. “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God! Search me, God, and know my heart;.. test me and know my anxious thoughts.” I easily get anxious – even subconsciously! These words are a reminder to me to put anxiety behind me – to let go and let God! Lord you love me, I know you do and you care for me! Let that be enough – help me to live in gratitude and serve as I ought as your child, I need you assurance and love – as your grace and mercy has given me eternal hope for now and ever!

  2. God knows me like an open book. I can not hide anything from His knowing even though I may try. He put me together so that I may serve Him. I need to praise Him always doing His will. That is only a possibility when He leads me and guides me. I need to trust Him with all of my heart and walk daily in His presence. I am His and He is mine and His banner over me is love. That love I need to share each day.

aste the goodness of the Lord:
    welcomed home to his embrace,
all his love, as blood outpoured,
seals the pardon of his grace.
Can I doubt his love for me,
when I trace that love’s design?
    By the cross of Calvary
I am his and he is mine.
