What I do have I give you!?

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Acts 3:1-10

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“What I do have I give you” (Acts 3:6)
When I look at this verse, they contain words that I cannot say.
I do have silver and gold, and I’m not confident to say ‘in Jesus’s name walk!’
Maybe I should, but just being honest when I admit that I don’t.
So what do I have to give, and am I willing to give at least that.
Depending on the situation, what I have will differ.
I can always offer God’s peace, forgiveness, love, promise.
I can always pray for healing or help, and bless them in the name of Jesus.
I can offer time, a listening ear, sincere attention, concern and respect.
I can also offer “silver and gold” in some ways, depending on the need.
I have connections, I have specific abilities, I have experience.
What I want to give more than anything is a relationship with Jesus.
He can help them in ways I cannot, deep in their heart, for their deeper needs.
But Jesus wants me to offer what I can, so that he can work through me.
It is not that I have nothing to offer – but what I do have, do I give it?
PRAYER
Lord, I admit my lack of confidence in what you can do through me. Help me to start with what I do have, and help me to grow stronger to offer even more.

  1. Jesus is the gift. Today is a gift from Him to serve Him. As I live for Jesus those around me need to see that I am His and He is mine by my words and deeds. I need to be an instrument of His peace showing my love for God and my love for those around me.

Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord
And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

Make me a channel of your peace
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there’s sadness, ever joy.

Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

  2. “but what I do have I give you.” This is the best that I can give – to humbly admit it’s not me but allowing myself to be open, given, to the Lord’s will – that is the best that I can do. I must get out of the way and let the Lord use me – let his HS guide me. That is the best that I can give and I must be open to use whatever gifts the Lord has entrusted to me. Help me Lord to be submissive and to genuinely seek your ways! Lead me guide me along the way!
