SCRIPTURE: Genesis 45:1-15
OBSERVATION/APPLICATION:
One day, like Joseph, we will be able to see that the bad things that we experienced in this life were a part of God’s overall plan. Joseph does not hold a grudge against his brothers for the years of misery they put him through, he recognizes God’s hand and purpose in it. I can apply this specifically to things that happen to me, and by faith declare, ‘what I experienced as evil was a part of God’s good plan, for the benefit of many others’. We will never fully appreciate all the ripples that result from our hardships, how many people God blesses.
As Christ-followers, we need to affirm this whether we see it or not, trusting that the One that we have entrusted ourselves to has all things in hand, and will work out everything for good. I am in this place for a good reason. I am going through this struggle for a good purpose. By entrusting my hardships to Him, and using them to bring honour to God, others wills be blessed through me.
PRAYER:
Lord, this is easier said than done, especially for some people who have gone through horrific trials. May we not become bitter or vengeful, but may we surrender our hardships to You, trusting that one day it will all make sense. Amen.
