Because of His integrity!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 41

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Because of my integrity you uphold me…” (Psalm 41:12)
David was a good man in many ways, but he was not sinless.
His horrible crimes of adultery, murder, abuse of office, deception are well known.
Yet here he claims that God is pleased with him, that he is a man of integrity!?
Even more, God honours him as a man after His own heart, pattern for the Messiah.
This is nothing less than the amazing grace and mercy of God.
David is not sinless, and even David will not deny this (v.4).
But this is the integrity that pleases God, a humble, trusting heart.
Jesus is like David, He cares about weak people (v.1) and is betrayed (v.9).
But Jesus is greater than David, He is without sin, a real man of integrity!
Because of Jesus’ integrity, God upholds Him and raises Him to the throne.
And because of Jesus’ integrity, God upholds us, and restores us… AMAZING GRACE!
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
We can’t say we’re guiltless, but we can trust God to uphold us (v.2).
Am I trusting and praising God and Jesus, like David, for this saving grace?
PRAYER
Lord, I entrust my life and well-being and protection to You. I will praise You for ever and ever. Amen and Amen.

  1. Honesty with the Lord – humbling, becoming weak – addressing my own ego – coming to Jesus in honesty, in truth and having a heart for the poor – physically and in spirit. It is when I think I am strong – I move away from being empowered and renewed by the HS. Keep me close to you I pray – for in you I can walk and live and serve! I am a reconciled sinner!

  2. Take it to the Lord in prayer.
A person of integrity will walk the talk. He will weather the storm since his hand is in His Father’s hand.
Yet our reputation can easily be damaged by our friends who have their own self interests and destroy our reputation. All they want is self gain. They become a law unto themselves.
And I, I need to always have my hand in His as He leads me in the way I should go. I am always in His presence and as His child I need to walk always in His SonShine.

What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer!

    Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

    Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge—
    Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
    Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
