My confidence!

THE STORY OF JESUS: 2 Timothy 3-4
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
Paul is an inspiring example of the perseverance of faith.
Despite opposition, persecution and betrayal, he hangs on to Jesus and God.
He remains hopeful and confident, and urges Timothy to do the same.
His life has been a battle, but in Christ he has overcome.
Is your life like a battle, and if so, how is the fight going for you?
I can relate to the battle, though my struggle is mainly in my head.
I struggle with questions, doubts, second-guessing and discouragement.
But I can say that I have not been beaten, and I remain hopeful.
My hope is not in my have strong faith, or confident answers.
My confidence is not in my grip on the Lord, but on His grip on me!
I have lost confidence in my faith, in my strength, in my goodness.
But I have not lost confidence in my God – He will help me cross the finish line.
The world is a mess, people are unreliable, and I am too – but God is not.
He will rescue me from every evil attack, and bring me safely to His kingdom!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for standing at my side and giving me strength. You will deliver me from the serpent’s lies, and one day I will stand with You. Maranatha!
