I want to see Jesus!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 18:35-43
“When all the people saw it, they also praised God.” (Luke 18:43)
This blind man wasn’t the only one whose eyes were opened.
The same group that tried to silence the blind man now see this healing.
They did not understand – could not see – that this was what Jesus was about.
Even after all this time with Jesus, they were still blind to who Jesus was.
The blind man on the other hand could see Jesus better than they did.
I often wonder whether many christians today are blind to who Jesus is.
We spend our time thinking and talking about Jesus, but we do not share His values.
We see Jesus as our Jesus, and make it hard for others to reach Him.
I talk about Jesus all the time, not because I think I see Him better.
For me it is because I sense that I don’t see Him, that I don’t get Him.
By immersing myself in Jesus, and not giving up, I feel like this blind man.
“Lord, I want to see You!”, is what I am eagerly pursuing.
And though its not immediate, I do feel that I am slowly seeing Him better.
May all our eyes be opened more to Jesus, and may we praise God as a result!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I want to see You! Open my eyes to Who You are, that I may love and praise You more!

  1. Many were following the Master, listening to Him as they traveled. They were interrupted by by the cries of the blind man. He was determined to meet he Master while others tried to put an end to the matter. They were with the Master, following Him and . . .
    The blind man was persistent and the Lord did open His eyes. He could see. Really see His Master and Lord for The Lord was gracious to Him. God’s grace. And he was an influence to all the others because they too experienced God’s grace and started to praise God.
    Lord, may I have the eyes that see that Your grace and truth shall mark the way each day. Open my eyes Lord.

    Grace and truth shall mark the way
    Where the Lord His own will lead,
    If His Word they still obey
    And His testimonies heed.

    For Thy name’s sake hear Thou me,
    For Thy mercy, Lord, I wait;
    Pardon my iniquity,
    For my sin is very great.

    He who walks in godly fear
    In the path of truth shall go;
    Peace shall be his portion here,
    And his sons all good shall know.

    They that fear and love the Lord
    Shall Jehovah’s friendship know;
    He will grace to them accord,
    And His faithful covenant show.

    Ever are my longing eyes
    On the Lord, whose watchful care,
    When my foes their plots devise,
    Keeps my feet from every snare.

    Turn to me, Thy grace impart,
    I am desolate indeed;
    Great the troubles of my heart;
    Save Thou me, O Lord, I plead.

    Look on mine afflicted state,
    Freely all my sins forgive;
    Mark my foes, their cruel hate;
    Keep my soul and let me live.

    Shame me not; I hide in Thee;
    Truth and right preserve me still;
    Mark Thy people, Lord my God,
    Save Thou from every ill.
