I can’t, but we can!!!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 9:57-62
“The Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” (Luke 9:58)
Jesus does not turn anyone away that wants to follow Him.
But He does not water down what it means to follow Him.
Joining with Jesus is more than accepting forgiveness and heaven.
We are saved from selfish living, our focus is now on God and others.
I am the first to admit that I am a weak follower of Jesus.
My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak.
I have a place to lay my head, and I prefer it that way.
The only thing that keeps me following is that I desire His life.
I want to be like Him, to love people more than pleasures or possessions.
Don’t be put off by how Jesus seems to discourage followers.
He is reminding us what the goal is, not what the requirement is.
We need not be righteous to follow Him, just to hunger for it (Matthew 5:6).
Jesus invites the weak and weary to partner with Him, to be led by Him.
Together we will overcome the flesh, and grow in the Spirit as His followers.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, following You is harder than I can handle myself. My flesh is weak, but my spirit is willing. I need Your Spirit to help me frow as Your follower! I want to grow!

    Journey on the road of life toward the Light.
    Nothing can stand in the way of serving Him. A follower of Christ.
    Which way will I choose? I need to follow the Wat Jesus intends me to take. Nothing can be greater than to serve Him. Nothing should hold me back – family, friends.
    Take my life and let it be . . . .

    1
    Take my life, and let it be
    Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
    Take my moments and my days,
    Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
    Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
    2
    Take my hands, and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love;
    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for Thee,
    Swift and beautiful for Thee.
    3
    Take my voice, and let me sing
    Always, only, for my King;
    Take my lips, and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee,
    Filled with messages from Thee.
    4
    Take my silver and my gold;
    Not a mite would I withhold;
    Take my intellect, and use
    Every power as Thou shalt choose,
    Every power as Thou shalt choose.
    5
    Take my will, and make it Thine;
    It shall be no longer mine.
    Take my heart; it is Thine own;
    It shall be Thy royal throne,
    It shall be Thy royal throne.
    6
    Take my love; my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure-store.
    Take myself, and I will be
    Ever, only, all for Thee,
    Ever, only, all for Thee.
