Standing with the Messiah!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 14:60-65
“‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’ ”I am,’said Jesus.” (Mark 14:61-62)
When “Son” language is used of Jesus, it refers to Him as the promised Messiah.
“Son of the Blessed One” is not a divine title, but an divine affirmation.
He is a human being after God’s own heart, a faithful and righteous Adam.
Or as was first promised in Genesis 3:15, the offspring of a woman.
Jesus identifies Himself withe God’s promised Messiah (Daniel 7:13-14)
He is not claiming to be God, He is claiming to be God’s Messiah.
As a Jesus follower, I believe that Jesus is the hope of the world.
He takes back what Satan stole from us by beating Satan with obedience.
Jesus obeys where Adam (and we) failed, and takes back the throne for God.
This is the reason for my confidence, even when hell seems to prevail.
Satan often tempts and tricks me, and I still fall for it.
But I belong to Jesus, and Jesus guarantees my success, even when I fail.
With His help, I can keep trying to be more like Him, an obedient child of God.
I stand with the crucified Messiah, and I will rise with Him as well!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help me to stand firm with You. But when I fail, help me to stay confident in You, knowing that You have won for me, when I could not win for myself.

  1. Are You?
    I am.
Knowing what was coming, Jesus faced it standing alone. Jesus knew who He was and where He was going. His life was a witness but they did not want to see. Would His Word at this time make any difference? It was the will of God. And Christ accepts that will.
And I? How will I stand up for Jesus? I have the eternal hope that is in Christ. May I too stand on His promises in all situations – steadfast and secure.

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
    Standing, standing,
    Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
    Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.
    3
Standing on the promises I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.
    4
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.
    5
Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
