THE STORY OF JESUS: Esther 6-7
“Since Mordecai is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him!” (Esther 6:13)
I sense the Lord reminding me of the God that stands behind me.
Even Haman’s wife knew the stories of the God behind the Jews.
God may be invisible, but He is not inactive… He’s directing the story.
Haman found out the hard way; you cannot stand against God.
I make no claims about being a saint, or fully devoted Jesus follower.
Like the Jews, I mess up and often end up in tough places.
But standing with me (and despite me) is the God of grace and power.
My feeble efforts to be be a good Jesus follower have solid backing.
He makes me strong when I am not, He guarantees my victory.
Jesus is reminding me to be humble in myself, and hopeful in Him.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
This is not meant to make me lazy or passive, but to renew my courage.
As this story – and Jesus’ story – remind me, we will overcome in the end.
I am of Jesus origin, and Satan cannot stand against me.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, when waves of discouragement or defeat come over me, remind me that I am Yours. I may struggle or even fail, but I will not fall. Nothing can separate me from Your love!
