Filling the void with praise!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 28
“For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit.” (Psalm 28:1)
David is calling and calling, praying and pleading without ceasing.
His world is crashing in around him, and God is silent.
If nothing changes, David is as good as dead – he hears the gravediggers approaching.
In moments like this, we usually do not hear these kinds of words…
“My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” (Psalm 28:7)
God is silent, yet David fills the void with his own noise… his praise.
For some unknown reason, God is not stepping in yet, but David refuses to give up on God.
Job’s wife urged him to curse God and die, to let the darkness win (Job 2:9).
But why fill the silence with more darkness, why join the enemy in despair and defeat?
Satan makes sure that you will have negativity and difficulty in your life.
We cannot stop him, but certainly we can stop ourselves from joining him.
Giving up on God does not make our difficulties any easier… it makes them harder!
David had the joy of anticipating God’s help, and the joy of eventually experiencing it.
Try filling the silence of God with the praise of God, it will make a difference!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, like You I am living in this dark, sin-cursed world. But I refuse to add my own curses to the curse. Boost my heart with joy, and liberate my lips with praise! I will trust You to the end!
