THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 9:18-27
“The Son of Man must suffer… and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” (Luke 9:22)
The Son of Man (ie human offspring/seed) was first promised in Genesis 3:15.
I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
Satan has enslaved humanity to his will through his deception, and the result is enmity.
Choosing to obey God places a huge target on your life; Satan wants to defeat you.
No human has ever succeeded in resisting Satan, or overcoming his attacks.
Except Jesus, the promised Son of Man; He stays true to God to the very end.
Satan throws everything at Him, including death, but nothing works.
Death cannot beat Jesus, because death is the curse of sin, and Jesus does not sin.
Jesus as Human overcomes the attacks of Satan and the curse of sin, and lives to tell about it.
Because Jesus as Human triumphs, Jesus as Human is back on the throne (Genesis 1:26-28).
This is why Jesus life, death and resurrection are good news!
Because Jesus wins, we cannot lose.
We join Jesus by faith, taking up our cross (ie choosing to obey God)
Satan can attack and even defeat us in daily battles, but he cannot win the war.
I will struggle, I will suffer, I will die, but like Jesus I will also be raised!
Good news, because He lives, I too will live!

PRAYER
Lord, I also have a target on me, but I fail everyday. Thank You for beating Satan for me, and assuring me that through trusting You I too will overcome.
