I can’t convince you!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 8:27-30
“‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah.'” (Mark 8:29)
God had promised for centuries that a Messiah (Lord , Saviour) would come.
I can say that for myself, Jesus is my Lord and Saviour.
He is my constant Friend, Guide, Leader, Helper, in very real, very practical ways.
For myself, this is so real, yet I meet people – even Christians – who don’t find this.
I try to explain it to them, so they can rely on Jesus through their struggles.
But they look at me funny, or say ‘it’ doesn’t work for them, or smile and say little.
It is dawning on me again that I cannot say it for others, only for myself.
And just as Peter’s response was based on his experience…
And my response is based on my experience…
I have to pray that Jesus would give these others an experience of Himself.
Until God reveals Jesus to their heart, I cannot do it.
People had lots of ideas about Jesus then, and they will today.
They need to have their own Damascus road experience, like Paul.
He was persecuting Christians, when Jesus revealed Himself in a powerful way.
“I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked. ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied. My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me. (Acts 22:7-9)
Notice that ONLY Paul understood the voice THIS time; they had to wait for their own time.
I thank the Lord that He has revealed Himself to me.
And I pray that He would reveal Himself to others, because I can’t convince them.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I want others to experience You like I do. But I can’t make that happen, only You can. Open their eyes and their hearts that they may know You!
