Not about the miracles

SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:32-43
Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” (Acts 9:40)
I have no doubt that God can raise the dead.
I have no doubt that God can raise the dead through me.
I have yet to experience it, though I have prayed for it.
Why did it happen with Peter, but not in the same way today?
Some see this as a cop-out, but I put it to God’s will or plan.
Why wasn’t Stephen raised from the dead, or James (Acts 8:2, 12:2)?
These are meant to be signs, to back up the message of Jesus and the kingdom.

“This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.” (Hebrews 2:3-4)

And yet I also think we could see more signs, if we focused more on Jesus and His kingdom.
If we’re just looking for “signs and wonders”, we will be disappointed (or worse, deceived by fakes).
But if we pursue Him and His kingdom, He will “will” to show us it’s power to help us.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I will not pray ‘show Your power’ but ‘reveal Yourself and Your kingdom’, because I know that where You and Your kingdom are revealed, signs, wonders, miracles and gifts will follow!
