I want to be free!

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 130
“If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” (Psalm 130:3)
I know that there is stuff in my life that is not good.
Things I’ve said or done, unhealthy attitudes, selfish thinking, deceptive words.
Sins of omission (stuff I should’ve done), sins of commission (stuff I shouldn’t have done).
“But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.” (Psalm 130:4)
God is willing (and eager) to forgive us, but He wants us to want to be forgiven.
Not just set free from the consequences, but free from the behaviour itself.
God wants us to hate sin because of how hurtful and destructive is.
When we want to be rescued, when we put our hope in Him, He will come through!
Jesus is God coming through, dealing with our guilt and bondage, redeeming us from all our sins!
And Psalm 130 is us coming to Him, admitting our weakness and our shame, eager for mercy and help.
The Lord will not turn away anyone who hates what sin does to them, and wants to be rescued.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I can’t hide from the ugliness of sin in me. But I hate it, and I want to be different. From the depths I look to You, and wait for Your to fully restore me!
