This changes everything!

SCRIPTURE: John 20:10-18
“I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” (John 20:17)
I believe that Jesus is the Word of God made human (John 1:1).
While on earth, He was fully human, like us: His Father was our Father, His God was our God.
We tend to jump to quickly to saying ‘Jesus is God!’.
I do not question His divine origin, but we need to stress His human identity.
This is how He is our Saviour; He is Adam succeeding where all other Adams failed.
Through His victory over sin, death and Satan, He is established as God’s Son (Romans 1:4).
And we are restored as God’s sons and daughters through faith in Him.
Satan no longer owns us; we belong body and soul, in life and in death, to God.
The grip of death is broken, the power of sin is released, Satan is defeated!
Jesus is Lord of creation (Genesis 1:26-28), and we reign with Him (Ephesians 2:6).
The resurrection of Jesus changes everything!!!!!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, prior to Your resurrection, our only hope was bondage in life, and judgment in death. Now we are restored, children of God, free both now and forever! Thank You for changing everything!

  1. Observation/Application
    Tears.
    Grief.
    Because?
    The focus was in the wrong place. The tomb. Herself. And not on the risen Saviour until she heard His voice and recognized Him and saw Him. She saw her risen Lord.
    And through the eyes of faith I too am able to see Him and go forward joyfully in His power for He enables me to live for Him.
    Focus on Jesus and walk in His presence daily.

    O soul, are you weary and troubled?
    No light in the darkness you see?
    There’s light for a look at the Savior,
    And life more abundant and free.
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full in His wonderful face,
    And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
    In the light of His glory and grace.
    2
    Through death into life everlasting
    He passed, and we follow Him there;
    O’er us sin no more hath dominion
    For more than conqu’rors we are!
    3
    His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
    Believe Him and all will be well;
    Then go to a world that is dying,
    His perfect salvation to tell!
