SCRIPTURE: John 6:1-15
“Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them…” (John 6:11)
So many people, so many needs, so few resources.
I can certainly relate to this.
Our church finds itself with too few resources, facing too many needs.
Yet we serve the One Who has come to deal with these concerns.
We believe Jesus is our Prophet, Priest and King, the hope of the world.
I cannot explain how God multiplied the loaves and fish.
But there is an explanation… God!
I cannot explain how our resources always seem to be just enough for our work.
But there is an explanation… God!
Jesus doesn’t complain about inadequate resources, He thanks God for what He received.
We can do the same, God will provide what we need, somehow.
Our problem is not lack of God, our problem is lack of confidence in God.
As you see the needs and challenges around you, thank God for what you’ve got.
No matter how small it seems, with God it will be enough.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, we do not stand alone. If God is for us, who can be against us. Help us to serve with faith, knowing that God will multiply the resources for us when and how He sees best.
Observation/Application
Feeding the crowds with a little and yet they were flu and there leftovers.
Reminds me also of the manna the children of Israel received in their wanderings. They too had more than enough. And I.
All I have is all from Him and I too have more than enough, enough to share. It is the Lord Who also provides for my daily needs. All I have is His. He is the Bread of Life and He has given. I need the attitude of gratitude and freely give also of what I have received.
Thank You Lord.
God forgave my sin in Jesus’ name,
I’ve been born again in Jesus’ name,
And in Jesus’ name I come to you
To share His love as He told me to.
Chorus:
He said, Freely, freely you have received;
Freely, freely give.
Go in my name and because you believe,
Others will know that I live.”
All power is given in Jesus’ name,
In earth and heaven, in Jesus’ name;
And in Jesus’ name I come to you
To share His power as He told me to.
