Thank You for loving me this much!

SCRIPTURE: Luke 22:63-65
Have you ever bullied someone like this?
I have never beat anyone, but I have mocked and insulted classmates.
I have also witnessed it, and it’s not pleasant.
My heart goes out to those who are bullied.
So does Jesus’ heart… and He knows how they feel.
When we recall Who Jesus is, and why He came, this is even more shocking.
God as a human, mocked and insulted and beaten.
And what is more, He willingly endures this, to identify with us in our sin and misery.
This is what draws me to Jesus, and to the God He represents.
A great and glorious God willing to be shamed for the sake of love!
“Christ Jesus – Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:6-8)
How much does God endure for me, how much does Jesus suffer because of me?
This is grace, amazing grace!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, knowing me and knowing You, I shake my head in wonder that You could love me this much. Though I do not deserve it, I welcome it. Thank You for loving me this much!
