One day…

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 60-66
God is working to restore His creation paradise.
One day, peace will come for all nations, there will be no more sorrow and misery.
God will remove everything and everyone who refuses to submit to His will for love and peace.
Right now it does not seem like it, right now it seems the world will continue as it always has.
But God urges us to hang on to hope, to join with Martin Luther King in dreaming that one day…
Keep on waiting, keep on hoping, keep on striving for justice and peace and love and goodness.
You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. (Isaiah 62:6-7)
Look around in your own neighbourhood, where do you see signs of misery and sorrow?
Join with God with waiting and hoping and working for better, because one day…
Don’t join with those who ignore injustice and immorality, join with God in His dream for a better world for all!
“I will make peace your governor and well-being your ruler. No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. (Isaiah 60:17-18)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You are the coming King, determined to restore God’s creation paradise. One day everyone will enjoy Your peace, one day there will be no more misery. I cannot rest until this happens! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you! (Isaiah 64:1-2)

  1. I think of the Malaysia Airplane that went down and crashed yesterday killing hundreds. Speculation of it being a terrorist attack. All the violence that is going on while thousands of innocent people including children are dying. During those times I’m sure having hope is hard. I can only pray somehow The Lord can soften the angry hearts of those who need to be restored.

  2. Observation/Application
One day the redeemed of the Lord will shine His glory for the Lord God is our everlasting light and His splendour will be displayed and this will all happen in His time. In the meantime, I need to be an instrument of His peace doing His work making joy spring forth. I/we need to be builders of His kingdom all the days of our lives raising His banner high. Our God reigns. And I must tell of His kindness and His faithfulness for He is in charge. Look and see what the Lord has done for us. Worship Him! He is my Redeemer.
    Do right and good.
    Remember His ways.
Live for Jesus for He is my treasure.
Hold His hand pursuing what He loves.
Seek the Lord in always in everything.
    being His servant
so that His joy may be filled.
One day His house will be complete.
    Creation regained.
    Choose life.
Choose what pleases Him and live!
Live every day as a day of the Lord and go forward in His power so others may also see that He reigns.

How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him
    Who brings good news, good news;
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness:
Our God reigns, our God reigns!
    Refrain

    Our God reigns!
    Our God reigns!
    Our God reigns!
    Our God reigns!

He had no stately form, He had no majesty
That we should be drawn to Him.
He was despised and we took no account of Him.
Our God reigns, our God reigns!

    Refrain

It was our sin and guilt that bruised and wounded Him.
It was our sin that brought Him down.
When we like sheep had gone astray our Shepherd came
And on His shoulders bore our shame.

    Refrain

Meek as a lamb that’s led out to the slaughterhouse,
Dumb as a sheep before its shearer,
His life ran down upon the ground like pouring rain
That we might be born again.

    Refrain

    Out from the tomb He came with grace and majesty;
He is alive, He is alive.
God loves us so, see here His hands, His feet, His side
Yes we know, He is alive.
