The power of praise

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 92
When we worship, pray or meditate, God reminds us of how things really are.
The Jewish rest day was a weekly reminder of God’s greatness and goodness.
This psalm – written for the Sabbath – encourages God’s people to keep on praising and praying.
“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 92:1)
It IS good to praise the Lord – it lifts the soul, strengthens the will, inspires the heart, refreshes the mind.
Worship is just not singing songs in church – it is any way we respond to God’s greatness and goodness.
We can do this through music, but in so many other ways too: testimony, prayer, poetry, dance, art, work, charity, using our skills for God and good, etc.
It is good – really good – to recognize God for Who He is, and what He does, and to express this in worship.
It is folly – senseless folly – to ignore or deny God’s greatness and goodness.
Do your soul a favour, spend time today and this week expressing your wonder and appreciation to God.
Take time to pause, to reflect, to pray to God, to praise Him… don’t be a senseless fool.
Take time to share with someone else how great and good God is for you!
Let Your worship be contagious!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, it is good to praise God and You. May my time of prayer and praise establish me firmly in this hope. May Your greatness and goodness inspire in me a joy and hope and love that is contagious for others!

    The Psalm revisited:-)
Truly a Psalm for the Sabbath.
Today I will sing of His faithfulness in the presence of His people with some of my grandkids graduating from ‘Sonday’ school. Truly God is an awesome God.. His works continue to be great and I rejoice.
The evil doers do seem to flourish at this time in the various areas of the world but as in the past, the nations will rise and fall, but my God is God, the Ruler, the King of kings forever.
Those in the Lord are planted by the streams of water and they will flourish. They will be ‘oaks of righteousness’ showing others that the Lord is good all the time. Since He is my Rock and Redeemer I can walk each day in joy and enjoy the SonShine of the Lord God Who is my Strength. Each day anew, I need to be built up and stand upon the Rock.

My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.
My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do.
The mountains are his, the rivers are his, the stars are His handiwork, too.
My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do. (for you!)

  2. Observations/Application
    Praise the Lord.
It is good to praise His name early in the morning and at the close of day.
    Praise the Lord,
for He has done mighty things.
Just look and see what the Lord has done in my life.
    WoW!
Thank You Lord for Your daily presence!
Others can’t see Your daily leading. They don’t understand that I am walking with my God.
Keep my eyes open so that I can see You clearly at all times and in all stages of my life. Keep my ears open so I hear You saying, ‘This is the Way. Walk in it.’
Bless the works of my hands Lord. Make me strong in Your Way. Help me always to be a light for those around me.
You are my Rock and Redeemer.
I stand daily in Your presence.

    Lunch
Oh, the Lord is good to me,
And so I thank the Lord for giving me the things I need
The sun the rain and the apple tree
The Lord is good to me.
