A future filled with regret?

SCRIPTURE: Luke 10:8-16
The message I hear today is about unbearable regret when we realize the consequences of our choices.
Makes me think of Gordon Stuckless, having to finally face the consequences for the abuses he committed in the past.
Jesus is not threatening people here (“I’ll teach you for rejecting me”) but sadly grieving the consequences of their actions and decisions.
God through Jesus was messaging them, offering them life and hope and blessing – and they weren’t interested.
God, through Jesus, is always messaging me – through the bible, through others, through experiences – offering me a better life, showing me a better way – how am I responding?
If we really understood Who Jesus was, and what He was telling us, we would eagerly listen to Him.
What frustrates Jesus is that even the non Jews (Tyre & Sidon) seem to get Him more.
I hear the Lord gently addressing areas of growth or concern in my life, guiding me towards His better future and away from a future of regret.
Think about some of your regrets; knowing what you know now, would you have done things differently, if you had paid attention to God’s wisdom or warnings?
Now consider what the Lord may be messaging you about today; where is He encouraging you or warning you?
How great will our regrets be on the final day, if we don’t heed His wisdom or warnings now?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You are messaging me every day, with encouragements and warnings. You are pointing me to God’s better world, to God’s better way. Open my ears to hear and listen, my heart to respond!
