Crazy love?

SCRIPTURE: Luke 7:44-50
“Whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” (Luke 7:47)
I find these words of Jesus challenging.
The strength of my love reveals the strength of my gratitude.
This woman displays excessive, what some might call ‘outrageous’ or ‘crazy’ love.
People judge her for it, but Jesus welcomes it.
Reminds me of when David danced before the Lord: “Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart… David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes.” (2 Samuel 6:16,21-22)
Is my love and appreciation to God and Jesus weak or strong, excessive or outrageous?
Would anyone accuse me of being extremely grateful and loving towards Jesus?
If anyone accused me of being a Christian, would I be guilty… would there be any overwhelming evidence to convict me?
The point of this is not to induce guilt, but to make me think about the level of my devotion and gratitude to Jesus.
How about you?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, great love or little love? Crazy love? How is it evident in my life? Something to think about today.
